Q: What types of addictions does Purpose House serve?
We support men, over 18, who have addictions to alcohol, marijuana, cocaine, methamphetamine, opiates, benzodiazepines, and other drugs. We are NOT a detox facility. We are NOT a treatment facility. We are a transitional sober living home for residents who have started their recovery and want additional support during their recovery process. You do need to be sober, and have a desire to stay sober, in order to become a resident at Purpose House. Drug test and breathalyzer is administered during the admission process.
Q: Are visitors allowed?
Family and friends are certainly able to stop by and come see where you are living during daytime hours (10am-8pm). We ask that they keep their visit to the common areas and the grounds. You can show them your room, with prior permission of your roommate. We do not allow non-residents to spend the night on premises. We ask that you keep visits limited to 45 minutes. We have other residents who also consider Purpose House their home and depending on their day, may need quiet and privacy. Once you have been a resident for 30 days, you can request an overnight pass to stay off premises one night/week. Longer stays outside the home are acceptable with prior approval from house manager.
Q: Do residents have access to internet and cell phones?
Residents will be allowed to have cell phones while staying at Purpose House Sober Living. If a resident is found to be using their phone for uses that are deemed inappropriate by Purpose House standards (pornography, illegal downloading, etc.), phone privileges may be lost for a predetermined length of time. Internet access is included with your residency at Purpose House.
Q: How does Purpose House differ from other programs?
Our program is limited to eight residents, who live in gorgeous, updated single-family homes in quiet, residential areas of Northern Colorado. We require mandatory involvement in the AA/NA community and are strongly 12-Step based. We have a live-in, on-site house manager and conduct random/frequent drug testing. We focus on living a healthy, active lifestyle and conduct group outings that are active and in nature. Our program encourages residents to take care of their body and mind, along with their spirit.
Q: Will residents have access to outdoor activities?
We have a locked area for bicycles and highly encourage that residents bring them. Horsetooth Reservoir (Fort Collins) and Devil's Backbone (Loveland) offers hiking, mountain biking, fishing, and boating. There are plenty of bike trails throughout the city, as well as numerous parks. Skiing is available less than two hours away.

Purpose House allows residents who are currently on Buprenorphine. We highly encourage the resident to seek off-site assistance to taper off of suboxone, as it is our ultimate goal to help our clients achieve abstinence based sobriety. If a resident is found over-using or sharing medications with other residents, this will be grounds for immediate expulsion.
