Scholarship Fund Information

Recipient Selection

Recipients of the Scholarship Fund are carefully selected based on a combination of financial need and demonstrated motivation for recovery. We prioritize individuals who show high levels of commitment to their recovery and are willing and excited to commit to the higher levels of structure, accountability and support that Purpose House Sober Living provides; but who may not have the financial means to come up with the first month Resident Fee. Our goal is to remove that financial barrier for those who are ready to do the work and take the next step in their recovery journey.

Each applicant is evaluated through a thoughtful screening process to ensure the scholarship funds go to the individuals who are the most dedicated to making lasting change. In most cases, there will be a requirement that recipients are currently receiving treatment in an inpatient setting and be willing to come directly door-to-door from residential treatment, be able to pass a Urinalysis test at intake, be willing to commit to a minimum of 90 days in sober living and show that all other attempts to acquire funds for sober living have been exhausted. The Scholarship Fund will aid in covering the first month costs to give recipients the opportunity to transition from residential treatment to sober living. At the start of the second month recipients will be responsible for paying the Resident Fee themselves so that they may start to develop the skills required to achieve financial independence.

The Scholarship Fund is meant to be a hand up, not a hand out.

Scholarship Fund Donations

The PHSL Scholarship Fund is made possible entirely through the generosity of individual donors and community supporters. All scholarship awards are dependent on the availability of donated funds, and as such, the number and amount of scholarships may vary over time. We are deeply grateful to those who contribute, as their support directly impacts the lives of individuals seeking a fresh start in recovery. Without these donations, this opportunity would not be possible. 100% of donations received go towards scholarship recipients.
If you have any other questions about our Scholarship Fund please reach out to [email protected]. Our mission is to offer full transparency in recipient selection, donation allocations and all information regarding our Scholarship Fund.
